The global blocklist is a workspace-wide list of email addresses and domains that OutreachFox will never send to, in any campaign, now or later. Use it for unsubscribes, existing customers, competitors, partners, and anyone who asked not to be contacted. Contacts on the blocklist are skipped at upload and at send time, so a stray CSV cannot email them by mistake.

Why this matters

  • Compliance. An unsubscribe must be honoured everywhere, not just in the campaign it came from.
  • Reputation. Emailing someone who already said no is the fastest route to a spam complaint, and complaints hurt more than bounces.
  • Relationships. Cold-emailing a current customer or a partner's CEO is avoidable.

Steps: add entries manually

  1. Click Settings at the bottom-left.

  2. Open the Blocklist (also labelled Block List / Do Not Contact) section.

  3. Click Add.

  4. Enter one or more values, one per line:

    • a full address: jane@acme.com
    • a whole domain: acme.com (blocks every address at that domain)
  5. Click Save.

Steps: import a blocklist file

  1. In the Blocklist section, click Import (or Upload CSV).
  2. Choose a CSV with a single column of emails or domains, one per row, header optional.
  3. Map the column if prompted and confirm.
  4. Review the count of entries added and any rows skipped as invalid.

Steps: check whether a contact is blocked

  1. Go to Contacts and search the address.
  2. A blocked contact shows a blocked or do-not-contact status and is excluded from campaign sends.
  3. Inside a campaign, the Contacts tab's Status filter shows blocked leads separately from bounced and replied.

What happens automatically

  • Recipients who click the unsubscribe link or header (enabled under Risk Control in the campaign's advanced configurations) are added to the blocklist.
  • Replies categorised as "Not interested / Do not contact" by reply categorisation can be blocklisted from the reply view.
  • Contacts uploaded later that match a blocklisted address or domain are marked blocked and never sent to.

Tips

  • Block by domain for customers and competitors; block by address for individual opt-outs.
  • Add your own company domains and your sending domains so seeds and colleagues never receive campaigns.
  • Export the blocklist monthly and keep it with your CRM; if you move tools, the list moves with you.
  • Blocking a domain does not remove existing contacts from lists; it stops sending to them. Use the Contacts page to delete records if required for a deletion request.
  • Do not use the blocklist for temporary pauses. Untick the lead in the campaign or change its status instead.

Troubleshooting

  • Blocked contact still received an email. Check whether the email was sent before the entry was added; the blocklist is not retroactive. Also check for a typo or a subdomain (mail.acme.com is not blocked by acme.com unless wildcard matching is enabled).
  • Import skipped rows. Rows with spaces, missing @, or multiple values per cell are rejected. Clean and re-import.
  • Need to unblock someone. Find the entry in the Blocklist section and delete it. Contacts already marked blocked may need their status reset or a fresh upload.
