The Slack integration posts a message to a channel of your choice when a lead replies, when a reply is categorised as interested, when a lead bounces or unsubscribes, and when a campaign pauses. It is the fastest way to make sure a hot reply is answered within the hour instead of sitting in a shared inbox.
Prerequisites
- Owner or Admin role in the OutreachFox workspace.
- Permission to install apps in your Slack workspace, or a Slack admin who can approve the app.
Steps
-
Click Settings in the bottom-left corner and open Integrations → Slack.
-
Click Connect Slack.
-
In the Slack authorisation screen, pick the Slack workspace and click Allow.
-
Back in OutreachFox, click Add notification.
-
Choose a Channel. Private channels appear only after you invite the OutreachFox app to them in Slack (/invite @OutreachFox).
-
Tick the Events to post:
- Reply received (every reply)
- Interested reply (only replies Reply Categorization marks as Interested or another category flagged as useful)
- Bounce
- Unsubscribe
- Campaign paused
- Mailbox disconnected
- Daily summary (sent, replies, bounce rate per campaign, posted at 9:00 in the workspace time zone)
-
Optionally limit the notification to specific Campaigns.
-
Click Save, then Send test message to confirm it lands in the channel.
What a notification looks like
A reply notification contains the lead's name, company and email, the campaign and step, the category and sentiment assigned by Reply Categorization, the first 300 characters of the reply, and two buttons: Open in OutreachFox and Mark as interested / not interested. Bounce and unsubscribe messages show the lead, campaign and reason. A campaign-paused message shows the reason, for example "Bounce rate reached 5%".
Recommended setup
- #outreach-interested: Interested reply only, all campaigns. Whoever owns follow-up watches this channel.
- #outreach-all-replies: Reply received, all campaigns, for the person maintaining categorisation.
- #outreach-alerts: Bounce, Campaign paused, Mailbox disconnected. Treat anything here as a same-day fix.
- One channel per client for agencies, filtered by that client's campaigns.
Tips
- Keep Reply received out of channels that people mute; out-of-office and "not interested" replies quickly outnumber real ones.
- If you have set a bounce-rate pause threshold (Edit Campaign → Settings → Show Advanced Configurations → Pause campaign when bounce rate reaches X%), the Campaign paused event is the alert that tells you it triggered.
- Enable Daily summary in one channel only to avoid duplicate posts.
- For a workflow beyond notifications (creating a Slack thread per lead, assigning owners), use a webhook with Zapier or Make instead.
Troubleshooting
- Channel not listed: invite the app to the channel in Slack, then click Refresh channels.
- Notifications stopped: the Slack user who authorised the app was deactivated. Click Reconnect in Settings → Integrations → Slack with an active user.
- Interested notifications missing: Reply Categorization is turned off, or the category is not marked as useful. Check Campaign Settings → Reply Categorization.
- Duplicate messages: the same event is enabled in two notification rules for overlapping campaigns. Remove one.
