Cancelling stops the plan from renewing. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which the workspace becomes read-only. Your data, mailboxes and campaigns are not deleted by cancelling; deletion is a separate step described in "Delete your account and GDPR requests".
Prerequisites
- Owner role in the workspace.
- No outstanding invoice. Settle any Open or Failed invoice under Settings → Billing → Invoices first.
Before you cancel
- Export what you need. Contacts, replies and campaign stats can be exported while the workspace is active (see "Export your account data").
- Decide what to do with Icemail mailboxes and domains. They are billed separately and keep renewing after the plan is cancelled unless you delete them or turn off auto-renew in Icemail. Warmed-up mailboxes are valuable; consider pausing the plan instead if you may come back within 90 days.
- Tell your team. Members and client viewers lose write access on the end date.
Steps
- Click Settings in the bottom-left corner and open Billing.
- Under Current plan, click Cancel subscription.
- Choose a reason from the list and, optionally, add a comment. This is used only to improve the product.
- If offered, review the Pause instead option: pausing keeps your workspace intact for up to 90 days at a reduced fee, with campaigns stopped and warm-up continuing. Click Pause to take it, or Continue to cancel.
- Review the What happens next summary: end date, what becomes read-only, and which Icemail items will keep renewing.
- Tick I understand and click Confirm cancellation.
What you see afterwards
The billing page shows **Cancels on ** and a **Resume subscription** button. A confirmation email is sent to the Owner and the billing email. Campaigns keep running until the end date; the day after, campaigns pause, warm-up stops for plan-slot mailboxes, and the workspace opens in read-only mode where you can still view and export data for 30 days. After 30 days of read-only, the workspace is scheduled for deletion and you receive a final warning email 7 days before it happens.
Resuming
Click Resume subscription any time before the end date to remove the cancellation with no change to your renewal date. After the end date, click Reactivate on the read-only banner, choose a plan and confirm payment; everything is restored as it was, including warm-up history.
Annual plans
Cancelling an annual plan stops the next annual renewal. The remaining months are not refunded, except within 14 days of the initial purchase, where a full refund is available on request through support.
Tips
- Cancel at least one day before the renewal date; cancellations on the renewal date may be processed after the charge.
- If you only need fewer mailboxes or seats, downgrade rather than cancel (see "Upgrade or downgrade your plan").
- Delete Icemail mailboxes you will not use again from Icemail before the end date so they are not billed for another month.
- Keep at least one Owner login active during the read-only period so you can export.
Troubleshooting
- "Cancel subscription" is missing: you are not the Owner, or the plan is already scheduled to cancel.
- Still charged after cancelling: the charge is for Icemail mailboxes or domains, which are separate. Check Billing → Icemail purchases.
- Need an early refund on an annual plan: contact support from the Owner's email within 14 days of purchase.
