Buy mailboxes through Icemail (Google, Microsoft, IMAP/SMTP, Azure)
Once a domain is in Icemail, you add mailboxes to it. You pick the provider, set the quantity and check out. Icemail creates the accounts and configures authentication for the provider you chose.

Prerequisites
- A domain in Icemail (bought through Icemail or connected with its nameservers pointing at Icemail).
- Wallet balance to cover the mailboxes.
Steps
- In Icemail, open the domain you just bought or connected. After purchase you land on the mailbox options for that domain.
- Choose the mailbox type to assign: Google Mailboxes, Microsoft Mailboxes, IMAP or Azure.
- Click Buy New Mailboxes.
- Enter the number of mailboxes you need.
- Click Add to Cart and finish the checkout process.

When the order completes, the mailboxes are listed under the domain in Icemail and are ready to import into OutreachFox. See Import your Icemail mailboxes into OutreachFox.
Which mailbox type to choose
| **Type** | **Best for** | **Notes** |
| Google Mailboxes | Prospect lists heavy in Google Workspace recipients; highest inbox rates to Gmail | Most expensive per seat. Warm-up needed. |
| Microsoft Mailboxes | Prospect lists heavy in Outlook/Microsoft 365 recipients | Good Outlook placement. Microsoft's own bulk-sending limits apply. |
| Azure | High-volume sending at lower cost per mailbox | Runs on Microsoft infrastructure without full M365 seats. Use the Azure warm-up profile. |
| IMAP/SMTP | Cheapest, fastest to provision, no provider admin console | Reputation depends on Icemail's sending infrastructure. Use the Custom Mailboxes warm-up profile. |
Mixing types is a good strategy. With Auto match leads enabled in a campaign (Settings → Show Advanced Configurations → Deliverability and Safety), OutreachFox sends to Gmail recipients from Google mailboxes and to Outlook recipients from Microsoft mailboxes where possible.
How many to buy
- 2–3 mailboxes per domain. More than that on one domain concentrates risk.
- Plan on 30–50 campaign emails per mailbox per day after warm-up.
- Example: 1,000 emails/day ÷ 40 per mailbox = 25 mailboxes ÷ 3 per domain = 9 domains.
Tips
- Name the mailboxes as real people (first name, or first.last) — Icemail lets you set names on each mailbox. Avoid sales@, info@, noreply@.
- Buy all mailboxes for a domain in one order so they are provisioned together.
- After importing, enable warm-up immediately. Idle mailboxes do not build reputation.
- Pre-warmed mailboxes are available if you cannot wait 2–3 weeks. See Pre-warmed domains and mailboxes explained.
Troubleshooting
- Order placed but mailboxes not appearing. Provisioning for Google and Microsoft can take a few hours. IMAP mailboxes are usually immediate.
- Cannot add mailboxes to a connected domain. The domain's nameservers are not pointing at Icemail yet. Update them at the registrar and retry.
- Google mailboxes need a client ID. Icemail handles Workspace API access for mailboxes it provisions; you only need the client-ID step when connecting your own Google Workspace directly to OutreachFox.
