Pre-warmed domains and mailboxes explained

A brand-new domain has no sending history, so the first two to three weeks after purchase are spent warming up before you can send campaigns. Pre-warmed domains are domains that Icemail registered and warmed in advance. You buy them ready-aged, import the mailboxes, run a short top-up warm-up and launch within days instead of weeks.

What "pre-warmed" means

• The domain was registered weeks or months ago, has full SPF/DKIM/DMARC and MX, and forwards to a live page.
• Mailboxes on it have been exchanging warm-up emails, so providers have seen consistent, engaged, low-volume sending.
• Reputation is real but modest. Pre-warmed does not mean "send 200 a day on day one".

When to buy pre-warmed

• You have a campaign that must start this week.
• You lost a domain to a blocklist and need to replace capacity fast.
• You are testing a new market and do not want to wait three weeks to learn whether the offer works.

When you have time, buying fresh domains and warming them yourself is cheaper and gives you full control over the history.

Steps

1. Click the OutreachFox icon at the top-left and select Icemail.
2. Click Add Domain and look for the pre-warmed domains option (listed separately from Buy Domains).
3. Browse the available stock. Each listing shows the domain name, its age and the mailbox type already on it.
4. Choose a domain whose name fits your brand and add it to the cart. Buy several to spread volume.
5. Complete checkout from your wallet balance.
6. Return to OutreachFox: Mailbox → Connect Mailbox → Import from Icemail.
7. Select the imported mailboxes → Enable Warm Up → choose the profile for the mailbox type → Enable Warmer.
8. Run warm-up for 3–5 days, then add the mailboxes to a campaign with campaign emails per day set to 20–30. Raise to 40–50 after a week of clean stats.

What you see afterwards

The domain appears under Domain in OutreachFox and its mailboxes on the Mailbox page. On the mailbox's Warm up tab you see health and placement stats from the first day of your own warm-up.

Tips

• Keep warm-up on permanently at a reduced rate, exactly as you would for a self-warmed mailbox.
• Set a custom tracking domain on the pre-warmed domain before launch.
• Check the domain's forwarding target in Icemail and repoint it to your website.
• Pre-warmed stock changes. If you need many domains with a naming pattern, fresh domains give you more choice.

FAQ

• Can I pre-warm my own domains? Yes — buy domains and mailboxes ahead of when you need them and leave warm-up running. Domains you buy today are your pre-warmed domains in a month.
• Does a pre-warmed domain make my copy safe? No. Copy, list quality and volume still decide placement. A pre-warmed domain only removes the waiting period.
• Is the domain name changeable? No. You buy the domain as listed. Choose names that could plausibly belong to your company.
• What if a pre-warmed domain performs badly? Treat it like any other: pause its mailboxes, check blacklists, and use Icemail's free mailbox replacement if a mailbox is the problem.
