The Daily new contacts limit caps how many leads a campaign contacts for the first time each day. It does not limit follow-ups; those are governed by the sequence delays and your mailbox limits. Use it to ramp a campaign gradually, keep total volume inside what your mailboxes can safely send, and avoid dumping a whole list on day one.

Steps

  1. In Campaigns, select the campaign you want to adjust.

How to choose the number

Work backwards from your mailboxes:

  1. Count the warmed mailboxes attached to the campaign.
  2. Multiply by the per-mailbox campaign limit (30–50 emails per day is safe for a warmed mailbox).
  3. Reserve roughly half of that for follow-ups once the campaign is a week old.

Example: 10 mailboxes × 40 emails = 400 sends per day. Set the daily new-contacts limit to about 200 so that, with a three-step sequence, follow-ups fit in the remaining capacity.

Start lower for the first week of a new campaign (for example 50–100) and raise it once the bounce rate and reply categories look healthy.

Tips

  • The limit resets each day in the campaign's sending schedule time zone.
  • If several campaigns share the same mailboxes, the mailbox limit is what actually caps volume; the sum of the campaigns' daily new-contacts limits can exceed it without any harm, but the campaigns will contact fewer leads than the setting suggests.
  • A limit of 1,000 with a small list simply means "as fast as the mailboxes allow".

Troubleshooting

  • Campaign contacts fewer new leads than the limit: the mailboxes hit their own daily limits, the send window closed, or the sending strategy is prioritising follow-ups. See Daily sending limits: mailbox limit vs campaign limit.
  • Change did not apply: you must click Save and then Resume campaign; leaving the editor without resuming keeps the campaign paused.
