An unsubscribe link at the bottom of your emails lets recipients opt out with one click instead of marking you as spam. OutreachFox adds the link automatically when Include Unsubscribe Message is on, and removes anyone who clicks it from the campaign.

Steps

  1. Log in to your OutreachFox account. You can enable this on a new campaign or an existing one.

What you see afterwards: every email in the campaign ends with the unsubscribe line. Contacts who click it get the status Unsubscribed and receive no further steps from any campaign.

Tips

  • Keep the wording low-key and human: "If this isn't relevant, let me know or unsubscribe here." Avoid the word "newsletter".
  • Enable it together with the unsubscribe header (see the next article); Gmail and Yahoo require one-click unsubscribe for senders above 5,000 messages a day, and it helps everyone.
  • Keep spam-complaint rate under 0.1%. An easy opt-out is the cheapest way to do that.
  • Unsubscribes are honoured across campaigns, so re-uploading a contact to a new campaign will not re-enable sending.

Troubleshooting

  • Link missing from the email — the toggle was switched but the campaign was not resumed/saved.
  • Contact still receiving emails after unsubscribing — check whether the same person exists under a second email address in your contacts.
