Once your email step is saved, the next step can be a LinkedIn action. This article adds a connection request with a note, then shows how to keep adding email steps, LinkedIn steps and conditions until the sequence is complete.

Steps

  1. On the Add Sequence step, select LinkedIn as the channel for this step. You can also add a Condition here if the step is LinkedIn-based (for example, wait N days and branch on whether the connection was accepted).
  2. Choose the LinkedIn action. For a first LinkedIn touch select Connection Request.

  1. Write the connection request note. Keep it under 200 characters (LinkedIn's limit is 300) and personalise it with variables.

  1. Click Save.

  1. Keep adding steps: another email, another LinkedIn action (Message, Like Latest Post, and so on) or a condition with a day/hour wait. Click Save after each action.

  1. Add as many steps and conditions as your strategy needs across both channels.

What you see afterwards: the sequence panel shows each step with its channel and, for conditions, an accepted / not accepted branch. Continue with Assign sender accounts, LinkedIn account and contacts, then launch.

Tips

  • Typical structure: Email 1 → wait 2 days → LinkedIn Connection Request → condition (wait 3 days): accepted → LinkedIn Message; not accepted → Like Latest Post → Email 2.
  • Only a LinkedIn Message can follow an accepted connection; put it on the accepted branch.
  • Give conditions at least 3 days. Many people accept requests in batches once or twice a week.
  • Put the email follow-up after the LinkedIn touch on the not-accepted branch so those contacts still get a second message.

Troubleshooting

  • Message action is unavailable — the contact is not connected yet. Place Message after a condition's accepted branch.
  • Condition option is missing — conditions are only offered after a LinkedIn step, not after an email step.
