LinkedIn conditions, wait times and branching (accepted vs not accepted)

After the connection request, a condition checks whether the prospect accepted and sends them down one of two branches. This article adds the condition, sets the wait time and fills both branches.

Steps

  1. With the connection request saved, click to add a Condition or another LinkedIn action below it.

  1. Set the waiting time for the condition by entering days and hours. OutreachFox waits that long, then checks whether the request was accepted.
  2. Click Save after setting the condition.

  1. You now see two branches: accepted and not accepted. On the not accepted branch, pick another LinkedIn action that helps you get noticed, such as Like Latest Post.

  1. On the accepted branch, add the next step, such as a LinkedIn Message. Write the message and click Save.

  1. Keep building each branch the same way (more conditions, messages, waits) until the sequence is complete.

What you see afterwards: the sequence shows as a tree with the condition at the fork. Continue with Choose the LinkedIn account, upload contacts and launch.

Tips

  • Wait 3–5 days before checking acceptance. A 1-day check sends most contacts down the not-accepted branch unnecessarily.
  • Not-accepted branch: one engagement action (Like Latest Post, Profile View) then stop, or hand over to email in a multi-channel campaign. Do not send a second request.
  • Accepted branch: wait 1 day before the first message. A message seconds after acceptance reads as automated.
  • First message after acceptance: thank them, one sentence of context, one question. Save the pitch for message two.
  • Keep total LinkedIn steps to 3–4 per contact. Prospects who have not replied by then rarely do.

Troubleshooting

  • Everyone ends up on not accepted — the wait is too short or the LinkedIn account was disconnected during the wait; check the account status and lengthen the condition.
  • Message step fails — the contact accepted but later withdrew the connection, or LinkedIn's messaging limit for the day was reached. It retries next day.
